Health promotion

Health promotion is a range of strategies that aim to strengthen the capacity and skills of individuals and communities to improve their health, and to improve social, environmental and economic conditions which impact on health.

Community Health philosophy

Health promotion is part of the Community Health philosophy to promote health, wellbeing and independence. Community Health is a member of the World Health Organisation's International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services.

Community Health has a broad range of health promotion programs and activities that are developed and delivered by a variety of staff including health promotion officers and allied health staff.

Health Promotion and Grants

Health Promotion and Grants works across the ACT Health portfolio to determine strategic priorities, community development and settings, coordination and communication, capacity building and campaigns. We actively work with staff to support Community Health's health promotion programs and activities.
