Each year Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people come together to celebrate their history, culture and achievements in a range of events that are recognised throughout Australia. This calendar lists each event and provides website links to relevant organisations allowing you to explore further information including details on activities taking place in various locations.

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet is an innovative web resource that makes knowledge and information on Indigenous health easily accessible to inform practice and policy. This web resource is a 'one-stop info-shop' for people interested in improving the health of Indigenous Australians.

The Australian Government administers a number of immunisation programs for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people through the National Immunisation Program (NIP) and the National Indigenous Pneumococcal and Influenza Immunisation (NIPII) Program. The program provides free vaccines, through immunisation clinics and General Practitioners, for Indigenous people aged over 50 or at high risk. Phone Community Health on (02) 6205 2300.

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak Aboriginal health body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services throughout Australia. Phone NACCHO on (02) 6248 0644.

Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service is a primary health care service initiated and managed by the local Aboriginal community to provide a culturally safe holistic health service to the Aboriginal people of the ACT and surrounding areas. The service is governed by a Board whose members are drawn from and elected by the local community.
